Modo Academy — Free  Education in Okrika


Learning, nutrition, and family support so children can stay in school and thrive.
Our Story
In January 2022, Pastor Margaret celebrated her birthday by serving the poorest children in Okrika. That simple act exposed a hard truth. Many were out of school because their families could not afford it. She rented a small space, hired teachers, and opened the doors. Modo Academy began with the conviction that poverty should not decide a child’s future.


What We Provide
    • Tuition-free classes for Primary 1–5
    • Daily nutrition so children can learn with focus
    • Books and uniforms for dignity and consistency
    • Basic healthcare and referrals to keep students healthy
    • Family support services that remove barriers to attendance


Impact and Milestones
    • 85 students currently enrolled
    • 5 students sponsored into public secondary schools
    • Target: 100 students in Primary 1–5 by September 2025
    • Land acquired for a permanent campus, with work underway to secure an additional plot for expansion
Our Long-Term Vision
Sponsor every child who passes through Modo Academy all the way to university or other tertiary education. Break the cycle of poverty one graduate at a time.

Safeguarding and Accountability
Children’s safety comes first. We maintain attendance tracking, progress reports each term, and clear use-of-funds reporting for sponsors and partners.
